In 1999, Laura Silber began designing and building furniture by hand using the debris left over after constructing her home on Martha’s Vineyard — which itself had been built from salvaged materials.
The eclectic pieces sold first through word-of-mouth, then at the Vineyard Artisan’s Festivals. Laura’s custom work can now be seen in fine homes all over Martha’s Vineyard, across the U.S. mainland, and as far away as St. Kitts.
An avid recycler, she inherited her great appreciation of all things old, broken, and potentially useful from her Grandpa George, who never threw anything away.
